Dr. Lia Rang, PT, DPT, received her Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology with a minor in Health Promotion from Michigan State University in 2020. She then went on to pursue her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Oakland University, and graduated in December of 2023.
During her time at Oakland University, Lia earned the Probono Honors Society award. This award recognized her dedication to providing underserved communities with quality physical therapy, while upholding the standards and requirements of her curriculum and profession. Also during Lia’s time at Oakland, she conducted research for an ongoing project on “The Outcomes of the Fifth Annual Interprofessional Workshop Focusing on Neonatal Abstinence Syndrome and Opioid Use Disorder”. She also served as the president of the Graduate Student Physical Therapy Association, where she advocated for physical therapy as a profession and enhanced the education of physical therapy students by having professionals from the community present to the students on different domains of the profession.
Lia’s clinical experiences and interests lie in outpatient orthopedics, as well as pediatrics. She also has experience in working with sports medicine, injury prevention, and neurology. Lia takes a holistic approach to treatment and utilizes skills in biomechanics, symptom management, and preventative care to help patients make gains through physical therapy.
Outside of physical therapy, Lia enjoys spending time with family, traveling, cooking, and trying new or challenging exercise classes. Lia is an avid foodie and loves to try new restaurants or recipes!
